Powerbase Gas membranes

Gas barriers are necessary where ever there is a risk of naturally occurring radon or methane gas. Radon is commonly found over granite formations, whereas methane and carbon dioxide is produced as a result of the decomposition of organic matter, such as made ground or natural deposites; namely coal, peat or silt.

Powerbase produces two types of gas membrane:
  Powerbase RB for protection from Radon gas.
  Powerbase MB for protection from Methane and CO2.
  Powerbase gas barriers are reinforced LDPE geomembranes manufactured by cast extrusion coating LDPE onto a fabric made of strong multifilament and tape yarns. The methane barrier incorporates a strong aluminium foil which is encapsulated and therefore protected with an extra layers of LDPE on both sides. This provides additional protection and prevents the fabric from pin-holing the aluminium.
